The distance between Jakarta and Bogor is just fifty kilometers and so it is close to Jakarta. The Dutch preferred to call this place as a town “without worries” and due to this nature of the town, the first palace for the Dutch Governor General was constructed in this town in the year of 1745. This palace can be seen even today with all its elegance and in the gardens of this palace deer roam freely among the tall trees of the garden. The residents of Bogor earn their livelihood by working in industry, forestry and in agriculture. The religion practiced in this area is Catholic, Christianity, Buddhism and Hinduism. The botanical gardens in this city are very popular all over the world and are spread over an area of 87 hectares and consist of many species of plant life.
